IPFA Asia Pacific Workshop on Plasma Quality and Supply Taipei, Taiwan

The International Plasma Fractionation Association (IPFA), National Serology Reference Laboratory, Australia (NRL) and Taipei Medical University (TMU) are pleased to announce the IPFA Asia Workshop on Plasma Quality and Supply.

This inaugural Workshop will build on IPFA's not-for-profit traditions of open and inclusive discussions between all stakeholders who may have an interest in and/or responsibility for developing technological, quality, regulatory and organisational tools to produce plasma for fractionation in the Asia Pacific Region.

Venue
The meeting will take place on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 March 2016 at the Taipei Medical University (TMU), Taipei, Taiwan.

Accommodation
Accommodation arrangements for a reduced rate for our delegates have been made with the Evergreen Laurel Hotel Taipei, within walking distance or a (short) taxi ride of the meeting venue.
The offered rate is as follows: Superior Room, single occupancy TWD 4.500 including service charge, breakfast and in room internet network. For reservations please complete and submit the booking form to Mr Roger Chen, Hotel Sales Manager, directly: rogerchen@evergreen-hotels.com. Please note the cut-off date for hotel reservations is 20 January 2016.

Registration
The reduced registration fee is EURO 200,- and includes full attendance of the two day Workshop, lunch on both days, a social dinner and access to the on-line Proceedings post event. We have set this registration fee at EURO 200,- to maximize potential attendance by stakeholders in the region. Workshop Programme
This Workshop will identify and discuss key issues, strategies and opportunities to meet the increasing requirements for Plasma for Fractionation and essential plasma derived Medicinal Products in the Asia Pacific Region. A comprehensive range of topics will be addressed including:

  • Donor recruitment and selection
  • Screening for blood borne pathogens, and its quality assurance
  • GMP and Quality management for Plasma for Fractionation
  • Regulatory requirements
  • Plasma fractionation options
  • Clinical use of Plasma Derivatives
  • Product manufacture and supply strategies

The Workshop is being developed by internationally recognized experts and will be of interest to colleagues with an involvement in policies to secure the supply of plasma from the region to meet increasing patient needs for essential plasma derivatives such as: Blood establishments, Haematologists, clinicians and medical students, Patient and donor organizations, Regulatory authorities and Health Ministries and Agencies.
