所長的話

生醫材料暨組織工程研究所所是一個國際化,跨領域的教學暨研究機構,並提供了生物醫學材料科學,新的組織工程學及再生醫學策略的基礎及應用知識。本所在組織工程,幹細胞生物學,再生醫學及重建,醫療儀器之設計及開發,藥物傳輸系統,奈米科技,生物反應系統,及治療用之生物分析及加工等領域提供了高層次的學習及研究教育,以及以上領域所使用的創新型先進技術。除此之外,本所教師間的研究組合在轉譯醫學領域亦具有相當之優勢。

 

本所在研究生的訓練中,特別重視如何讓學生學習獲得具有在科學及相關生技市場具有國際觀及世界觀的視野。此外,本所除了與本地產業間的連結外,亦建立了與國外知名大學之間的研究鏈結,以及與亞洲,歐洲及美國的生技公司簽訂跨國的國際研究合作。此一國際合作模式,提供了學生與學界及業界的專家討論他們的研究成果的機會。此外,在本所的課程中,透過增加全英語課程及與國外知名大學之雙聯學程的模式,以幫助本所學生在畢業時同時能獲得更優質的在科學界及產業界的國際視野。

The Graduate Institute of Biomedical Materials and Tissue Engineering (GIBMTE) is an internationally-oriented multidisciplinary teaching and research institute that provides basic and applied knowledge on the science of biomedical materials and novel tissue engineering and regenerative medicine strategies.

High-level learning and international research education is provided on innovative state-of-the-art technologies pertaining to tissue engineering, stem cell culture, regenerative medicine and reconstruction, medical device development, drug delivery systems, nanotechnologies, bio-sensors, imaging technologies, and bioseparation and bioprocessing of biologicals for therapeutic use. GIBMTE’s research portfolio has a strong focus on translational medicine applications.

 

The education and research curriculum of GIBMTE provides a unique emphasis on the acquisition of a global vision of the scientific and market needs. In addition to links with local industry, GIBMTE has established research collaborations with foreign universities as well as research contracts with companies in Asia, Europe, and USA, and allowing students to have foreign co-PI for their MS or PhD degrees. This concrete international exposure offers opportunities to students to interact with different scientific and industrial cultures and to present, discuss their data at international meetings and publish in international scientific journals. In addition, the GIBMTE curriculum, with all classes and seminars in English, contacts with Taiwan industry entrepreneurs, dual-diploma programs with foreign universities (University of Lille, France; Tokyo University of Science, Japan;Case Western Reserve University; University of Dundee, Scotland; KMUTT, Thailand), helps students to acquire scientific and market skills needed at global level.
